My first "real" job
Today is the second day of my new job, working as an intern at Ontario Systems. The first day was a full day of orientation, where I got to fill out a lot of paperwork, a campus tour, and a look at my desk for the summer. Today we had a full day of training for the database and the language the company uses. Overall, it has gone well and been fun. Living in the apartment (with my roommate form this past school year) has gone well also. I am eating semi-healthy food and enjoying having ESPN. I think I will be able to make it though the summer.
One thing that I noticed while at work was that there is a Taylor bubble. For the first time in a long while, I had interaction with non-believers; more than just checking out at Wal-mart or ministries on campus. This is the real world, where people have different beliefs than I do and live differently. I have to say, I am glad to be outside of the TU bubble, interacting and being able to share my faith. Well, not even my faith, just getting to know others who don't see the world the way I do.
It's is nice to have that interaction and a big responsibility. I pray that I would not get in the way of others seeing God in me.
